Sofia Lyall is a Senior Researcher for Digital Policy within Demos Digital. Sofia has experience researching AI and tech policy, digital rights issues, and state uses of tech and data. Previously, Sofia conducted investigations and campaigns against discriminatory uses of data, algorithms and AI in criminal legal settings across Europe for Statewatch and Fair Trials, with research published in The Guardian, Wired, Die Zeit, and Euronews among others.

Sofia has an MA in Media Studies from Goldsmiths and a BA in German and Italian from the University of Cambridge.
