How can we make tech policymaking better?

1 Dec 2022 - 1 Dec 2022

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm GMT

The next in our Good Web Network series, we will be discussing the question of how tech policy is made. We’ll be asking: what is ‘tech policy’? What are groups that exist within ‘tech policy’? How do we break out of those? What in tech policymaking is working well? What isn’t? We want to hear your experiences of the processes of tech policy: from working in, adjacent to, or outside of the area.

Join us for an interactive discussion, including provocations from speakers including:

  • Ellen Judson, Head of CASM, Demos
  • Mark Bunting, Director of Online Safety Policy, Ofcom
  • Sahdya Darr, Migrant Digital Justice Programme Manager at the Open Rights Group
  • James Plunkett, Executive Director at Citizens Advice and author of How to make policy in a technical revolution
  • Casey Calista, Lead Public Affairs for Tech, Entertainment and Commerce, Hill+Knowlton Strategies
