Epistemic Security Network

Join the Epistemic Security Network here.

The Epistemic Security Network is a new network launching in June 2025 and hosted by Demos. It provides a home for collective efforts to protect democracy by cleaning up and fortifying our information supply chains.

At Demos, we think we are in a new era of democratic emergency, one in which our democratic future is not guaranteed. Extreme populist and authoritarian movements around the world are weaponising our information ecosystems. We urgently need a renewed effort to protect our information supply chains from mis- and disinformation, and to improve our democratic health.

The Epistemic Security Network works to mobilise, evidence and design strategies to strengthen the UK’s information supply chain. Together, we examine media policy, regulation, the public service model, the future of local news and citizens education to tackle this vital element of the democratic emergency.

Join the network here.

Demos will launch a series of regular events bringing together leading experts and influencers across the political spectrum to explore and understand the challenges we face in the context of epistemic security. We will also share a weekly newsletter, Epistemic Security Newsletter (ESN), to help increase the reach of the latest research and policy insights from across our network, and from around the world and specifically in the UK. Read previous ESN editions here.

Join the network to receive information about our events and to receive our ESN newsletter.

Our event recordings for the Epistemic Security Network events will be shared here:

The Epistemic Security Network is supported by our partners, William Perrin and Quadrature Climate Foundation.
