Smoking cessation continues to be one of our central public health challenges. The last decade has seen vaping rise as one of the most popular aids for people trying to quit, with over a quarter of people making an attempt using them.
Yet while vaping is less harmful than smoking, the presence of vaping products in sweet shops and in candy flavours shows that more regulation of the industry is needed to ensure they don’t cause more harm than good.
This paper is the first as part of a new research project, supported by Juul Labs, Inc, focusing on developing a new approach to regulation of the vaping industry in the UK.
