Online abuse and the manipulation of online discourse are growing concerns as threats to democratic participation, with marginalised groups highlighted as being most at risk. This project looks to collect and analyse disinformation from state- and state-aligned actors, focused on the ways in which people of different genders are targeted through disinformation campaigns and the ways gendered language is used to dis-empower democratic participants, particularly women.
