We are delighted to announce the launch of a new guide to help care homes provide better support for the hundreds of thousands of service men and women in assisted living in the UK. Download Supporting Military Veterans In Residential Care : A Practical Guide, here.

Our 2015 report, Under-Served, found that veterans faced a range of challenges while living in residential care, yet managers and staff were lacking the information and resources they needed to know how best to support them.

Our new guide aims to fill this information gap: helping care home managers, care home staff and local authority commissioners to understand more about how to support veterans living in residential care, taking into account their military service and backgrounds, and addressing their specific needs and preferences in a more personalised way.

Supporting Military Veterans in Residential Care draws on best practice and offers tips and resources to make it easier to deliver bespoke care.

Produced in partnership with the Forces in Mind Trust and the Care Cluster of Cobseo, The Confederation of Service Charities, the guide has been sent to care homes across the country.
