This project will evaluate the early lessons from the smart meter roll-out, looking particularly at the softer outcomes, such as whether smart meters have increased feelings of control or trust of suppliers among consumers. It will also scope out the various innovations a ‘smart grid’ make possible, including easier switching, time of use tariffs, and smart pre-pay (pay as you go energy).
