Unrepresentative Democracy: Creating a more diverse political class

Baroness Falkner and Jeremy Browne MP will join Demos to consider how to make politics more representative.

This panel discussion will focus on how to create a more representative class of politicians alongside changing patterns of democratic engagement among the younger generation towards less traditional forms of engagement. The discussion will explore whether there is a link between low voter turnout, increasing disaffection, and the diversity of the political class.
