The Night-time Economy: Local solutions to anti-social behaviour

Diana Johnson MP, Shadow Home Office Minister will join Demos to discuss local solutions to alcohol abuse and anti-social behaviour.

This panel discussion will explore local authority solutions to alcohol abuse. In particular, we will explore local responses to anti-social behaviour and the balance of how to maintain and control a night-time economy in a way that helps local businesses whilst also protecting local communities. The discussion will build on Sobering Up, a report that Demos released last year.

Speakers will include:

Diana Johnson MP, Shadow Home Office Minister
Henry Ashworth, Chief Executive, Portman Group
Jonathan Birdwell, Head of Citizenship and Political Participation, Demos
Cllr Sophie Linden, member of the LGA Safer and Stronger Communities Board and lead member for crime and community safety at Hackney Council
Heather Jameson, Editor, the MJ

This event will take place on Tuesday 23rd September at 08.00 – 09.30 in Room 1, Premier Inn Manchester Central, 7-11 Lower Mosley Street, M2 3DW.
