The Big 60,000: Could community projects revolutionise energy markets?

Jonathan Reynolds MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change will join Demos to discuss how to encourage new ways of supplying energy.

Since Ed Miliband’s promise to cap and control energy prices at last year’s Labour conference the tide of public opinion seems to have turned against the traditional Big Six energy companies.

This event will examine the potential of regionalised collective energy projects as an alternative to traditional providers.  The discussion will consider how to encourage new ways of supplying energy and the arguments in favour and against establishing such a network.

Speakers will include:

Jonathan Reynolds MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change
Juliet Davenport, Founder and CEO, Good Energy
Ruth Davis, Political Director, Greenpeace UK
Adam Scorer, Director of Consumer Futures, Citizens Advice

This event will take place on Tuesday 23rd September at 18.30 – 20.00 in Room 2, Premier Inn Manchester Central, 7-11 Lower Mosley Street, M2 3DW. Please clickhere for a  map.
