Nothing to Fear but Fear itself? Perceptions of fear in Germany and the EU

Demos (UK) and d|part (Germany) think tanks held a private stakeholder briefing, hosted with Das Progressive Zentrum, that presented the findings of a major new project examining how a rising culture of fear is forming in Europe – and how this features among German citizens and political elites.

The briefing outlined the key insights from the German case study within the research, contrasting attitudes of citizens with views by political decision makers, and comparing these with other European nations included in the study.

The briefing was followed by a discussion, exploring  how politicians and governments can respond to fears and insecurity among citizens in the light of recent and upcoming events such as the rise of far-right parties across Europe and the 2017 French and German elections.

This event was held on Tuesday 25th April from 9.00 – 10.30 am at Das Progressive Zentrum, Werftstraße 3, 10557 Berlin, Germany
