Added strain: the impact of living with MND

In 2016-17 Demos has been working with the MND Association to measure the financial burden on people with Motor Neurone Disease and their families, and to identify ways of reducing the burden. MND has an enormous impact on a person’s health, but it often has a significant financial burden too.

The first workshop will be held on: Thursday 9th March from 08.00-09.30 in central London.

The focus of this event will be on supporting households coping with both the financial impact of living with MND and the long term financial impact on families following bereavement.

Likely topics of conversation include supporting access to high quality financial advice, access to welfare benefits and managing the impact of lost income.

This policy workshop is an exciting opportunity to discuss our emerging findings, and help us identify practical solutions to the problems we have identified.

The venue is fully accessible, and refreshments will be provided. This workshop is held in a roundtable style, with a presentation by Demos researchers on their findings preceding the discussion.
