Get out the vote: is social media changing elections?

Demos is holding an evening panel discussion on how social media can be used as a campaigning tool to encourage people to vote.

This event will mark the launch of Like, Share, Vote – a new report by Demos which creates a toolkit for civil society organisations to use social media to target hard to reach groups where turnout has progressively diminished.

Speakers will include:

Richard Angell, Deputy Director, Progress
Elizabeth Linder, EMEA Politics & Government Specialist, Facebook
Fran O’Leary, Director, Lodestone and author of Why don’t you vote?
Michael Sani, Managing Director, Bite The Ballot
Ryan Shorthouse, Director, Bright Blue
The discussion will be chaired by Jonathan Birdwell, Head of the Citizenship programme at Demos and co-author of the report.

This event will take place between 6 and 8.30pm on Wednesday 12th November at Demos, 3rd Floor, Magdalen House, 136 Tooley St, London, SE1 2TU.

Refreshments will be served.
