Generation Citizen: Mobilising a new generation of voters

Sadiq Khan MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Justice (with special responsibility for political and constitutional reform) joins Demos to consider how to inspire a new generation of young voters.

This panel discussion will follow up on Demos’ report Generation CitizenThis event will explore the extent to which there is a relationship between new forms of engagement (e.g. social action, and social media) and traditional forms such as voting.

It will also explore the issues that younger generations care about, whether political parties need to reform their language and engagement efforts to ensure that they reach the internet-savvy generation and whether there is a relationship between volunteering / social action and voting.
