On 27th January, Demos, in partnership with The Office for Civil Society, The Universities of Sheffield and Hull and Business in the Community, will host policy breakfast to explore the future of employer-supported volunteering in the UK.
The Conservative government is keen to build on Britain’s volunteering culture, announcing during the election that employees of large firms will be entitled to three volunteering days a year. Building on the findings of a detailed academic research project, the event will explore the challenges of overcoming the key barriers to building effective and sustainable partnerships and launch a series of UK wide regional workshops to examine the infrastructural challenges across the UK.
