Demos held a private lunch at Labour Party Conference to explore the challenges and opportunities of the next frontiers of digital policy. The lunch brought together experts in digital policy, representatives from business, technology companies and the media, to explore topics such as: the role a ‘digital charter’ could play in striking the balance between regulation and protecting civil liberties and freedom of speech; the prevalence of online abuse and trolling; and the sustainability of news organisations, and the importance of ensuring quality and standards in news production in the digital age.
