Could more inclusive workplaces be the key to future UK productivity?
Conservative Party Conference Fringe Event
How can the best employers adapt to make their workplaces and practices inclusive to the UK’s diverse workforce? Britain is currently experiencing a chronic productivity lag, stagnant wages and endemic technical skills shortage. With Brexit signalling potentially dramatic changes to the available workforce, what can ambitious employers do to fill the skills gap within the domestic labour force? Could developing and adapting working practices accommodate those currently at the margins of the labour market – including those with disabilities, health conditions or caring responsibilities? How will the best employers change their practices to ensure they thrive, and continue to provide opportunities for good jobs and progression to their teams?
