Britain’s Digital Future – Keynote from UK’s Shadow Digital Minister

How could the UK become the world’s most advanced digital society?

In his first keynote speech since being appointed Shadow Digital Minister, Rt. Hon. Liam Byrne MP drew on his recently published history of Britain’s entrepreneurial revolution, to set out a roadmap for developing Labour’s digital manifesto over the year to come.

His speech was followed by a lively discussion led by Jamie Bartlett, Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media at Demos, and Matt Rogerson, Head of Public Policy at Guardian Media Group, then questions from a hugely engaged audience of technology practitioners and policy-makers.

The slides from Liam’s presentation can be viewed here.

A video recording of his speech can be watched here, the discussion and audience Q&A here.
