Peter is a Demos Associate. He is currently based in Monrovia, Liberia.

Currently based in Liberia, Peter Harrington is advising President Johnson-Sirleaf's Ministry of State on issues to do with communications and governance.

Previously Peter was head of communications at Demos, developing Demos' impact, networks, mainstream and new media presence, public and stakeholder profile, and publishing process.

As an Associate Peter is active in developing Demos' networks, particularly international links and projects.

Peter joined Demos in January 2007 to head events and publishing. He previously worked as manager of an international campaign to develop civic engagement with security and human rights. He has also researched energy policy, security, and conflict at the Centre for the Study of Global Governance, London School of Economics, and worked at Practical Action, an international development charity in the UK. Peter studied Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics.

Peter's main research interests are in finance and regulation, the environment, international development and the media. His regional interests lie particularly in Africa, the Middle-East and Central Asia.
