Mavis graduated from Cambridge (King's College) in 2011 with a BA in Social and Political Sciences. Since graduating she has undertaken work experience with Penguin Books and Faber&Faber.

Her interests include Aristotle, democratic theory, and the arts. In September 2011 she travelled to Florence to learn traditional oil-painting techniques.
