How does the internet change British politics?

23 Oct

Date and time:
Tuesday, 23rd October 2007 at 6:00pm
Location:
Google Offices, Belgrave House, 76 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 9TQ

Following our successful event about online privacy in July, Demos is pleased to announce a second event in association with Google.

This discussion will look at how the internet is changing politics in this country. As it becomes fundamental to more and more aspects of our lives, has the internet's impact on the political realm even begun to show its full potential? And if not, how might it re-shape participation and the political realm for the 21st century?

To weigh these questions, we will be joined by a fantastic panel of speakers:

Catherine Fieschi - Director, Demos
Matthew D’Ancona - Editor, The Spectator
Nick Robinson - Political Editor, BBC News
Stephan Shakespeare - CIO, YouGov
Tom Watson MP

We look forward to an in-depth and thought-provoking discussion. The event is invitation only. If you would like to attend, please email peter.harrington@demos.co.uk.
