A belated end to asymmetry
by John Craig
Authenticity is so time-consuming. Follow-up coverage this week helps me to make up for failing to blog, of all things, our interim report about the social impact of broadband, published in December. Proper journalists such as the BBC were more vigilant, focussing on the idea that broadband is increasingly allowing individuals to make more pro-active uses of the internet, both in their social lives and their interactions with public services. Perhaps iconic of this shift were the findings that 57% of users had used broadband before breakfast, and 21% had got up in the middle of the night to do so. Following a second phase of primary research with broadband users, more on this Ebay generation is to follow.

"Broadband is putting the 'me' in media".
What with his date with 'Tasha Kaplinsky this morning, John Craig really is turning into a shameless media wh**e.
He'll be getting his own column in the Mail soon...
